Loss to Adoption
Loss to adoption
Losing a baby to adoption can generate a complex of painful emotions including guilt, shame, hopelessness and worthlessness. At The Firgrove Centre we offer a safe, secure and confidential space for you to express and examine the pain you feel.
About our counselling
You can expect to be welcomed by your trained counsellor and listened to with compassion and respect as you tell your story.
The counselling takes place at the Centre, usually weekly, a face to face session lasting one hour.
Our service is strictly confidential and you will have the same counsellor each time.
Throughout your journey with us you will be helped to identify and express your feelings, and learn how to understand and manage them so that you are able to come to a place of self-acceptance.
Our service is for anyone who has lost a baby to adoption, regardless of how long ago, and is open to men and couples as well as women.
As a charity, our counselling service is donations based and we encourage clients to make a donation towards the cost of their counselling.
If you feel this service would benefit you, then you can telephone the Centre for an initial appointment where we can get to know a bit about you and answer any questions you may have.
